The journey from practicing physician of 27 years to full time president of a revolutionary machine sales and manufacturing facility is a story of vision and resourcefulness. Phil Accordino is the founder and president of RYO Machine LLC. in Girard, Ohio. Since its inception in 2008 RYO Machine took the country by storm with the development of the automated cigarette tube filling machine. In three short years RYO Filling Stations had captured one percent of total U.S. cigarette sales. Machine sales and royalty income for fiscal year 2011 exceeded $ 50,000,000. A sister company, SAM Manufacturing under Phil’s management is responsible for the monumental development of an automated cannabis pre-roll processing machine. The impact that this device promises to bring will catapult the pre-roll processing into the twenty-first century. Dr. Accordino remains a licensed physician in the state of Ohio.

Alex Ferman, BSc

Born in Ukraine, Mr. Ferman immigrated to America as a teenager, where he grew up in the Philadelphia area and earned a degree, in 2004, from Temple University in Business Administration – Pharmacology, while working for United Insurance companies of America, working on their list of approved pharmacology medications and formulations. Upon graduation, Mr. Ferman accepted an offer and position with Blue Crodd Blue Shield of Pennsylvania, overseeing their pharmacy benefits, administration and health care plans until 2008. In 2008, Mr. Ferman opened Present Future Pharmacy, with 3 offices, 2 being standard retail pharmacies, dealing with standard over the counter (OTC) and prescription medications, while the 3rd is a closed door compound facility or compound pharmacy, producing its own topical creams and personalized compound formulations for many local pharmacies. Mr. Ferman is a strong believer thar compounding new and undiscovered herbs and medicines is the future of this industry.

Michael J. Goeree

FOUNDER – PARTNER

As the Founder of VERDE Bio-Med, LLC and the former President and CEO of RAMO Bio-Med, Inc., Mr. Goeree brings his 3 years of Medical Marijuana Bio-Med Production Executive experience along with his 15+ years of experience in the international trading of securities, commercial farming / cash cropping and commodities of all types, along with buying bankrupt companies and revitalizing them as straight investments. Mr. Goeree is also the former Managing Partner of VIP Resources Group, Ltd., a West African Commodities Trade Company, focused on Commercial Cocoa and Rubber Farming and Export, Gold and Rough Diamonds, with operations in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana. As Chairman and CEO of four Small and Mid Cap Public companies Mr. Goeree played a significant role in the public company’s financial growth and structure while maintaining a positive bottom line. Mr. Goeree began his career in 1997 after attending Hanze University in Groningen, The Netherlands, where he studied International Business Economics and International Trade Law. His experience with Heineken allowed him to obtain employment in 1998 with Flugel N.V., a liquor producer in which Mr. Goeree worked his way from Director of Marketing and Sales to the North American CEO. Finally Mr. Goeree left Flugel N.V. after becoming a full partner and before the sale of the company, to venture into entrepreneurship in 2000 when he founded United Brands, LLC. After the sale of United Brands, LLC in 2004 Mr. Goeree was brought on as CEO of SunRayz Products, Inc. a publically traded commodities company buying and selling bulk oranges, pulp and orange juice for the export market. After selling his controlling interest of the company Mr. Goeree opened HMG Trading, LLC in 2006 a small commodities investment, securities trading and procurement company which eventually became VIP Resources Group, Ltd., which now, due to West African regional political unrest an security issues, ceases to operate. Along with managing operations for VERDE Bio-Med, LLC, Mr. Goeree will be finishing a MBA at the University of Liverpool, commencing in September, 2015.

Timothy J. Owens, PHD

DIRECTOR – PHARMACEUTICAL MARKET EXPERT

For the last 3 years Mr. Owens has acted as CEO for a national Alcohol beverage brokerage company (OTC) and developed fund raising medical kits and web based systems for Mighty Med, Inc., where he was CEO and Chief Science Officer. As a development engineer in electronics and medical devices and C.E.O. of QT5, Inc. (OTC company), Mr. Owens designed and received clearance through the F.D.A., 510 K medical device system a 2 minute HIV 1&2 point of care (POC) test based on a hand held vacuum controlled lateral flow system, a 5 panel Drugs of Abuse urine test, 8 panel urine based sexually transmitted disease test with specimen isolation. Mr. Owens received approvals and oversaw from inception to national retail rollout “NICO WATER” a nicotine based 500 ml. smoking replacement water with all national approvals. It reached national distribution in Rite Aid, Walgreens and other national and regional retail chains. Mr. Owens also worked with the National Institute of Health (NIH) and was awarded 2 development and Licensing Contracts for development of lateral flow “Point of Contact” (POC) devices for the detection of air borne infectious diseases in food. He has also acted as a consultant with fortune 1000 software & hardware design and manufacturing companies for Wide Area Micro Wave Mesh Arrays (WYMAX) to WIFI for compressed video, GEN II Compliant RFID systems with embedded video verification for Home Land Security projects at the Port of Los Angeles.

Mr. Owens holds post-graduate degrees in Finance and undergraduate degrees in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. Mr. Owens received in 1976, 1977 & 1978 award letters for academic achievement in engineering from the oval office of the President of the United States under Gerald R. Ford and James E. Carter. Mr. Owens holds or has held: S.E.C. securities licenses (3, 6, 7, 22 & 24), Insurance (Life, Disability, Property & Casualty), Real Estate (Broker & Appraisal), and Radio Telephone First Class License with F.C.C. He has for the past 15 years continued his academic education in Bioengineering and High Performance Computing (HPC). Chuck Lang, CPA / MBA

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Chuck currently is the CFO for RYO Machine, LLC and SAM Manufacturing, LLC. His prior experience includes a variety of finance and accounting leadership roles in NYSE companies. Prior to his current position, he held the Director of Finance and Treasurer role for one of the largest sign companies in North America.

His experience also includes controller, division finance lead and strategic planning positions. Chuck holds a Master’s degree in business from the J.L. Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University. He has also obtained a Bachelors of Science degree from Miami University (Ohio) with concentrations in Accounting, Finance and Economics. In addition, he has achieved the CPA and CTP certifications.

Christopher A. Ott, Esq.

Attorney Christopher A. Ott has extensive experience advising corporations on a wide range of domestic and international matters. He spent over a decade in two of Washington, DC’s most prestigious firms where, as a partner, he represented Fortune 50 companies and the U.S. and foreign governments on highly complex matters. Mr. Ott’s work includes representing clients before the U.S. Congress and the Executive Branch agencies, most notably the Department of Defense, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, the Treasury Department, the Department of State and the Department of Commerce. While not limited to these areas, he focuses his work on clients in the financial services, biotechnology, high-technology, energy, defense and security industries. His substantive legal experience also includes structuring private sector investments and government funded programs in public-private partnerships. He has years of experience negotiating contract terms for debt and equity investments, IP ownerships rights, establishing investment terms and conditions, and addressing a range of other issues related to multi-million dollar transactions. Mr. Ott continues to maintain close relationships with key government officials and business executives both in the United States and internationally. Mr. Ott’s experience also includes over three years with the Caribbean Law Enforcement Intelligence Center while serving with the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Ott earned his law degree (cum laude) from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he was a Dean Scholar and Executive Managing Editor of the Transatlantic Law Journal. Dr. Jones holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from American University of the Caribbean, St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, a Masters of Science: Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California and a Bachelor of Science: Microbiology and Cell Science/Chemistry from University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Jones is currently licensed to practice medicine in both the states of Nevada and California. Andrew Schwisow, BA

FACILITIES ENGINEERING & DESIGN

Mr. Schwisow’s main task is to design, engineer and oversee the development and upkeep of all our lab, extraction and cultivation facilities. Mr. Schwisow has been the Vice President of Michael O’Connor and Company in San Francisco since June of 2008. The company is focused on the arrangement of debt and equity for institutional and private clients alike. The firm has placed over $6 billion in commercial debt and equity over fifteen (15) years with prestigious companies that include the Irvine Company, Calfox, Prologis and Novartis to name just a few. Andrew’s personal focus has been on conventional assets with an emphasis on the debt and equity placement of apartment buildings, industrial parks and retail centers in the $10 million to $50 million. Mr. Schwisow has designed, engineered and developed over 15 facilities in the USA, ranging from 5,000 ft² to 80,000 ft². (464.5 m² to 7,432.2 m²)

James D. Schivley, B. Eng.

BUSINESS & FACILITY DEVELOPMENT

As Director of Business Development for Schneider Electric, a 28 Billion Dollar Public Company, Mr. Schivley specializing in the business development of the energy management controls for the hotel market segment. Mr. Schivley was brought on board in 2010 to provide Schneider Electric with his 25 years of hospitality business experience to develop and launch the Cassia in-room Energy Management Solution. In this role, he developed the business strategy, pricing analysis, internal and external margins along with price points, concessions and financial alternatives.

In addition to the business development role, Mr. Schivley oversees the North America Cassia sales efforts across all three marketing verticals within Schneider Electric constituting of over 283 Partner companies, 300 field offices and 100 lighting agent companies. His knowledge, entrepreneurship in each market provided valuable insight to the marketing, development and strategies that drove Cassia EMS sales to over $5 million in less than 18 months.

From 1979 to 1985 Mr. Schivley received his start in the nuclear engineering on submarines in the U.S. Navy, graduating 1st in his class at the US Navel Nuclear Engineering Academy in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Schivley’s naval experience and knowledge allowed him to obtain employment in 1985 with Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company. Mr. Schivley was responsible for analyzing the commercial, industrial risks and determining ADV’s and MPL’s associated with each account over $50 million in assets. During this time Mr. Schivley received training and experience in advanced infrared thermographic applications to further evaluate risks of the insured accounts.
Mr. Schivley left Hartford Steam Boiler and ventured into entrepreneurship in 1989 when he founded Infrared Service Corporation. He became an active member of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing Thermal/Infrared committee in 1990. Then in 1993, he developed and patented the methods and related apparatus for generating thermographic survey images (Patent No. 5,818,951), a process that provides an advanced optimized aerial infrared roof moisture inspection. This development gained international respect for him as a published author for the International Society for Optical Engineering.
Mr. Schivley’s in-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry, professionalism, day to day business operations and project management experience allowed him to successfully negotiate a National contract in 1996 with Marriott Marketplace, later to become Avendra to conduct their Full Service and Limited Service properties inspections. Mr. Schivley then proceeded to implement and manage a National infrared inspection program for over 1000 properties overseeing his 12 North America branches for the company. Mr. Schivley has worked closely with national and international Architectural, Engineering and Law firms providing them his business experience and innovative approach to special projects.

Dr. Leonard Makowka MD, PhD

MD, PhD

Leonard Makowka, MD, PhD, FRCS(C), FACS, received his M.D. degree from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1977, and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto’s Department of Pathology in 1982. He has published over 400 articles and chapters in both clinical and basic scientific research and has lectured worldwide.

Dr. Makowka is a distinguished clinical and transplantation surgeon and medical researcher. Between 1989 and 1995, Dr. Makowka was the Chairman of the Department of Surgery and the Director of Transplantation Services at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He was also Professor of Surgery at the UCLA School of Medicine.

Dr. Makowka has retired from the active practice of medicine to pursue investment strategies and business development in healthcare, life sciences, finance and other industry sectors. Dr. Makowka was a Founding Partner in the syndicated radio company After MidNite Entertainment, Inc., which was purchased by Premiere Radio Networks in 1997 and now resides within the Clear Channel portfolio of companies. He was a shareholder in Metro Capital, Inc., a Canadian based company with significant real estate holdings in the Toronto area.

Dr. Makowka was a Managing Director of Innovative Technology Partners LLC, a late stage technology venture fund. In 1999, Dr. Makowka founded Drive Thru Technology, a national provider of wireless and surveillance equipment for the restaurant and hospitality industries. He was a Managing Director of ITF Global Partners, an international financial advisory, strategic and a capital investment company.

Dr. Makowka is actively involved as an advisor to, or member of the Board of Directors of several companies. He has been a Corporate Member of Blue Shield of California since 1995 until recently. He served from1998 until June 2003 on the Board of Directors of Hollis Eden Pharmaceuticals, (NASDAQ: HEPH). He was a member of the Board of Directors of Kinemed, Inc., a privately held biotech company. He was the Chief Scientific Advisor for Universal Detection Systems, a publicly traded company developing environmental monitoring technologies for bio-terrorism.

He was a founding consultant for Ivivi Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded (NASDAQ: IVVI) medical technology company focusing on designing, developing and commercializing proprietary electrotherapeutic technologies. He was a founder of Trillenium Medical Imaging Inc., a company engaged in novel healthcare applications of proprietary infrared imaging. He was a member of the board of directors of Cell Kinetics Ltd. (OTCBB: CKNTF), a health sciences company that is developing and commercializing its own medical devices, and investing in companies with other medical device technologies. Dr. Makowka is a senior advisor to U.S. Strategies, a national strategic, business consulting and government relations firm with extensive experience in the health care field, as well as other business sectors (i.e. technology/communications/financial services).

Dr. Makowka was a member of the Advisory Board for the UCLA School of Public Affairs. He is currently the Chairman of the Corporate Advisory Board of the UCLA School of Nursing. He is the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the financial media platform, Microcap Review and Stock News Now (SNN.com).

Alex McKean

CHEIF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Mr. McKean has been the Chief Financial Officer of Encore Brands, Inc. since October 2009. Previous to that, he acted as an Interim CFO and independent management consultant under his own firm, SGT Enterprises, Inc. for clients such as: GTX Corp, Charles Drew University, First California Bank, American Apparel, Color Spot Nurseries, and International Aluminum, providing services in accounting, regulatory filings, compliance, M&A and valuations.

Prior to establishing his own firm, during 2004-2007 Mr. McKean was with Parson Consulting working in such areas as: strategy, financial modeling, SEC filings, process management and Sarbanes Oxley. Major clients included: Citigroup, Arvin Meritor, KeyEnergy, Ameriquest, and Ecolab.

Mr. McKean has held positions as a Controller and VP of Finance at 24:7 Film from 2002-2004, VP of Finance at InternetStudios.com from 2000-2002, Director of FP&A/SVP at Franchise Mortgage Acceptance Company from 1998-2000, as Corporate Accounting Manager/Treasurer of Polygram Filmed Entertainment from 1996-1998 and Assistant Treasurer/Controller for State Street Bank from 1989-1996.

Randy Rubin

VICE PRESIDENT SALES & MARKETING

Randy Rubin has currently relocated back to Los Angeles where he began his career 25 years ago. He recently divested from a small business, Capital Investment Partners, in which he started in Orlando Florida and relocated his family to Palos Verdes California to pursue west coast based opportunities. He has a diverse background in Sales, Marketing, and International Strategy for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and other smaller medical and pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Rubin has proven leadership and management skills in Sales and Marketing within GSK for over 14 years. One such process was the implementation of a regionalized training program that rolled out nation-wide to cut down cost while addressing specific local issues for each part of the country. He also participated in the overall branding and naming of a global compound in the HIV business of GSK. A project that took nearly one year and involved numerous markets worldwide. Mr. Rubin has written numerous marketing plans, developed key strategies in pricing, and even presented budgets to senior executives for approval and implementation.
Mr. Rubin prides himself on his biggest accomplishment as being directly responsible for growing the Oncology/HIV division of GSK from 300million to a billion dollar company within five years and earning the prestigious CEO Leadership Award at GSK. Mr. Rubin has lived as an expat in 3 countries during his career. He has managed budgets in a Local Operating Company of GSK in Eastern Europe.
Mr. Rubin holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Behavioral Neuroscience and attended Pepperdine’s Executive MBA program before transferring to Research Triangle Park North Carolina for a promotion to their headquarters. During his career, he has attended the Centers for Creative Leadership; Leadership Development Program, Decision Making, and Negotiate to Win programs. Mostly, Mr. Rubin simply prides himself on being active in the community and spending as much time as possible with his wife Lena and their children Benjamin and Bella.

Alan Bailey

CONTROLLER

Alan Bailey is a finance veteran in the entertainment industry having served as a Senior Financial Executive of Paramount Pictures for 35 years, including being its Treasurer. He has substantial experience in cash management, financial reporting, audit and compliance, corporate and structured finance, and financial planning. He is currently the “virtual” CFO to several publicly traded and privately owned entertainment companies, including businesses associated with investments in and from China.

Paul Sullivan has 40 years of healthcare as a Pharmacist, hospital pharmacy innovator, company owner, a senior level executive, speaker, writer, educator, clinician and a consultant. Having been recognized as an Inc. Magazine Entrepreneur-of-the-Year in 1988 he has been interviewed on various healthcare subjects by the Wall Street Journal, Inc. Magazine, New York Times, CNN and NBC.

The combination of his Pharmacy and MBA and Nutritional studies and product development experience has prepared him well for designing and formulating product lines that appeal to the traditional medical community, integrative medical practitioners and wellness centers as well as retail distribution. He has developed healthcare product lines including nutrition, skin care, body care, sun care, and for the dental profession where he managed not only the formulation process but also the sourcing and production as well.

His product development experience and consulting practice client list includes among others Murad Skin Care Products & Day Spa, ProHealth Vitamins, Fitness Today, JC Penney, Amerisource Bergen Drug Co., McKesson Robbins Drug Division, Time Warner, Anacapa Industries, Zig Ziglar Training, Nico Worldwide, Vital Living Vitamins, Magellan’s Luxury Travel, Lifetime TV, Cure Pharmaceuticals, MedImpact, Nutrimatix, IDLife, Vitame, Patient Engagement Advisors and Mycratine Solutions.
